About Okanagan Body Art

Okanagan Body Art Company umbrella includes The Henna Hut, Face Paint Hut, and Okanagan Body Art Booths.

Okanagan Body Art’s artists have entertained at our beach booths, festivals, markets, and private events since 2009!

Okanagan Body Art First began with The Henna Hut. The Henna Hut had humble beginnings as a extracurricular school project at Penticton Secondary School by founder and artist, Larissa Russell, who wanted to create a business were she would be able to do what she loved – art!

The Henna Hut has now grown into a local beachfront icon and award- winning business. Recently, The Henna Hut ranked in the top 5 of all small businesses in British Columbia at the Small Business BC awards for our excellence in Marketing! The Henna Hut is also frequently featured in top Penticton attractions lists.

Our Goal is to promote body
positivity through art!

Our company is run by a team of artists, and for the past 13 years The Henna Hut has provided summer jobs to hundreds of locals artists, including many high-school and undergraduates students.

We can be found at many local markets and events, and we are open daily at Okanagan and Skaha beach in the summertime, facilitated by Penticton’s Beach Vending Program.

At The Henna Hut, our artists hand-draw temporary body art, including henna, glitter, and flash ink tattoos. These tattoos last 1 to 3 weeks. They are painless and fun, using our own blend of organic henna paste and body paints

Thank you so much for allowing us to share our story- we’re so happy to work and contribute to arts and culture in the Okanagan!
